Personal Sampling
Small, lightweight personal sampling pumps can be fitted to an operative to assess the individual’s exposure to dust and vapors during a normal shift.
Passive Monitoring
Passive tubes that change colour in response to exposure to specific chemicals can be worn by operatives to measure personal exposure to dust and vapors. Tubes can also be mounted in areas of concern to obtain background readings.
Spot-checks of environmental gases
Spot checks give a quick but accurate assessment of the pollutant concentration. They must be taken before anyone is permitted to enter a confined space.
Measurements from all three methods are compared with the occupational exposure limits recommended by the Health and Safety Executive to ensure the safety of the workforce.
