Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering (BBGE) has attracted two senior personnel to its Stent and Pennine Divisions to work within the innovation and overseas areas of the business respectively.
Eric Murphy joins BBGE’s foundation and piling division Stent, the only UK supplier of the revolutionary sustainability product AggReFlo.
As business development manager for AggReFlo, Eric will be responsible for promoting the use of the breakthrough product, which enables excavated soil and recycled aggregates to be returned to the ground in liquid form, reducing both the amount of material sent to landfill and the need for dug aggregates.
Eric recently left Keller after 30 years service and brings Stent vast experience of soil performance and the range of ground improvement applications set to benefit from AggReFlo, says he was drawn to Stent by the “high calibre and reputation” of the company’s geotechnical and piling innovations.
Meanwhile, Vincent O’Hara, former managing director of Keller’s foundation division, has joined ground improvement specialists Pennine, as overseas contract manager. Vincent will be responsible for managing contracts in North America/USA, South America/Brazil and Asia through their lifecycle, from preliminary estimation and design to completion.
After 30 years in the industry, Vincent has been impressed by Pennine’s overseas work, particularly in the marine vibro market. “I’m relishing the fast pace of my new role,” he said. “I’ve been overwhelmed by the warm welcome and team spirit at Pennine and BBGE - I now look forward to a challenging and rewarding time ahead.”
Dawn Watts BBGE human resources director said: “I am delighted that Eric and Vincent have joined Stent and Pennine respectively. Our business is based on the knowledge and expertise of our workforce and these recent appointments will further expand the calibre of personnel at Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering.”
