Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering has a strong commitment to training; starting with graduates who undergo a formal training scheme leading to professional status. This is the first step in developing those who will play an important role in driving the company forward. We are committed to giving responsibility at an early stage, backed by sound quality and health and safety management systems.
Graduates can expect a formal but flexible training system, designed for all levels of professional membership of The Institution of Civil Engineers. A new graduate will be expected to spend periods of time across a range of operational departments, which will enable him or her to gain experience in all aspects of the company's business.
We are justifiably proud of our employees, several of whom have achieved national accolades. These include Construction News "Site Engineer of the Year" and a previous winner of the John Mitchell Award.
Stent has sponsored Engineers through an EngD Research programme at Loughborough University and MSc Students at Imperial College, Surrey University and Nottingham Trent University.
